STEPHANIE DEWINSKI
MSW, LCSW
Stephanie Dewinski, MSW, LCSW, joined Suicide Prevention Services in 2016 as a Master of Social Work intern from Aurora University. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in psychology with a minor in women and gender studies from NIU in 2014. After graduation, Stephanie remained with Suicide Prevention Services of America, transitioning into the role of Coordinator of Education and Training. Currently, she serves as the Associate Executive Director of SPSA.
As a licensed clinical social worker, Stephanie is deeply passionate about working with adolescents, and young adults. Her areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, and self-compassion. Stephanie adopts a collaborative approach with her clients, incorporating creativity into therapy through art, coping skills, and problem-solving to empower them to achieve their goals and express themselves fully. Stephanie is dedicated to supporting the LGBTQ+ community, providing a safe and supportive space for individuals to express themselves freely and authentically. She advocates for their rights and strives to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and respected.
Stephanie holds certification in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which strengthens her capacity to deliver impactful treatment and assistance to her clients.
Outside of her professional role at SPSA, Stephanie finds joy in pursuing creative activities, particularly cooking and baking. She also cherishes spending time outdoors and camping with her husband and their dogs, Rocky and Cherry, who bring joy and companionship to their adventures. In her leisure time, Stephanie unwinds by playing board games and video games, and watching movies, finding them to be a fun and engaging way to relax and connect with loved ones.
